Translation process description:
A translation in the selected language combination will be done by a native speaker of target language. One of the important requirements for translator selection is translator's experience in the subject field of translation. Translation will be estimated by native speaking proofreader of target language according to quality control procedures. In case if the quality control shows a necessity of proofreading, it will be done by another native speaking linguist with knowledge of the subject field. Before final delivery, the translation passes through quality assurance procedures. A translation in the selected language combination will be done by a professional translator of target language. However, there is no available native speaking translators for the selected languages. To maintain high level of quality the translation will be proofread by native speaking proofreader of the target language having experience in the subject field of translation obligatory. Before final delivery, the translation passes through quality assurance procedures. There is no possibility to arrange direct translation from the selected source language into target language. That is why the translation process is divided into two phases. The first phase is translation from source language into an intermediate language. The translator will be qualified native speaking translator of the intermediate language having knowledge and experience in the subject field of translation. To maintain high level of quality the translation will be proofread by native speaking proofreader of the intermediate language obligatory. After obligatory proofreading the text in intermediate language is handed over to the native speaking translator of selected target language. Phase 2 ends with obligatory proofreading by native speaking proofreader of target language having experience in the subject field of translation. Before final delivery, the translation passes through quality assurance procedures.

Revision

Special issues require particular solutions.

Our Revision service is a solution for those customers who have already had an original document translated; the translation is good and can be used for its purposes. Then after some time the original may have been changed slightly (less than 30% of the text) and now re-translation is required.

This is common for certificates, forms and structured reports, contracts and specifications where only parts of the documents have been changed. Usually some of the text will be repeated in each new document, which is why it is important to ensure the authenticity and uniformity of the translation.

Freelanguage solution for such situations is our Revision service.

Using this service you can get your translation updated in strict accordance with the new original for only 50% of the translation cost. To make a revision we will need to see any 'old' originals with their corresponding translations and 'new' originals. Using special software for translators (CAT tools) 'old' and 'new' originals are compared, corresponding parts are translated on ground of previous translations and only new parts and changes will be translated.

This method helps to preserve the consistency and uniformity of new translations in accordance with previous ones. After the translation of any changes has been finished the newly translated document is carefully proofread and compared with the new original. Accordingly, the customer gets a new translation that corresponds to a previous document of the same type sooner than if it has to be translated again from scratch.

Every revision projects starts with a preliminary estimate.

There are two important requirements for revised documents:

1. The initial translation has to have been a quality translation. If the initial translation was done badly or using automatic translation software (Google Translate, for example) revision will not be possible.

2. The difference between an 'old' original and 'new' original cannot exceed 30% of the volume of the text.

During Freelanguage working hours you will receive your estimate no longer than half an hour after we have received the initial enquiry. All enquiries received during non-working hours will be processed in the first 90 minutes of the next business day.

The estimate can only be final and accurate if we have been sent the materials for revision, as the speed and cost of revision may differ depending on the target language, the customer's requirements, the format of the originals and the subject field of translation.

The volume of text is calculated in words. The cost of revision is calculated using the rate per word. The rate for revision is usually 50% of corresponding language combination translation rate.

The speed and hourly volume of revision varies from language to language. On average, the normal daily volume of one revision project is 3,500 words per day. The maximum daily volume of revised words within frameworks of one project is 12,000 words per day.

The project cost is always calculated based on the actual word count.

Freelanguage confidentiality and non-disclosure policy requires the deletion of all the materials sent for costing in the case that the customer has rejected the offer or in the case that we have not received a reply in the 24 hours following the provision of the estimate/offer to the customer.
